The SAFE code (please, please learn it and I’ll stop nagging) will help children be safe around any body of water
| S | Spot the dangers – look around you for things that might be dangerous to you, agree somewhere to meet in case your group get separated, swim between the red/yellow flags on lifeguarded beaches |
| A | Always go with a friend – it’s a buddy system, look out for each other |
| F | Find and read the safety signs – the signs will tell you where to get first aid, tide times, particular dangers of the place you’re in |
| E | Emergency? Stick up your hand and shout |
